before i start,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY XIANGHONG!!hm just finished reading this bk titled hip hop high school. thought it was a v typical book at first where the female character in school goes through a series of unfortunate events before landing in a ideal situation of love and success. but e book has more to tt. i was tearing at the end of the book, and this was rare. the only other book tt i actually cried when reading was harry potter. haha emo huh.
family ties are important. no matter how much your parents seem to scold you over the littlest/ seemingly most unimportant matters. but they have a reason to do so and i think tt as sons/daughters, the least we can do is to help them with some household chores or joke around with them, making them happy so as to relief some of their stress from work.
"Good things happen to people who try" as quoted from the book. indeed, how do you know you cant do it before even trying? some say tt there is nothing impossible. i dont agree, but theres no harm giving it a try so that one can gauge his/her limitations before continuing on what he/she is doing right? never underestimate oneself, but never be overconfident too
in the book, there was this teacher Mr W that always scolded the students. not exactly scold but in our terms, niao. the students hated him because he was strict as well, giving them Cs or even Ds for their essays. but in the end, he was the one tt helped them. he sent in applications to the university for his student, because of one thing. mr W: because i care for my students. hm meaningful ya. and this reflects one of my teachers in e exact way. haha.
haha was just v inspired after reading tt book. haha will blog again later i think. before i leave for melbourne. hahaha
